V&T Locomotive #24 "Merrimac"
 

Last engine acquired for the Big Bonanza which ended by 1878. Seldom used after 1897, the "Merrimac" was not equipped with air brakes or automatic couplers before being sold (December, 1900) to Verdi Lumber Company No.2, transferred to Boca & Loyalton Rail Road (1902) as No. 4 and converted to oil (1908). Leased to Utah Construction Company for building Western Pacific (c.1909). B&L became WP (1916) and engine renumbered 123. retired (November, 1924) and scrapped (June, 1930) at Sacramento, CA.
